As you all know, President Trump signed the Coronavirus Stimulus Package this weekend. It’s a $900 billion dollar package that contains many of the top priorities that the AHLA and AAHOA lobbied for. I have included a comparison chart that shows the improvements from the CARES Act for your review. More information can be found on the AHLA and the AAHOA websites. We will also set them up on the MMHLA website.

It’s my understanding that the Shelby County Health Department will be out this week enforcing the newly passed Face Mask Ordinance and $50 Face Mask Civil Fine Ordnance. As long as you are enforcing SCHD Directive 16 and following the face mask ordnance and social distancing regulations, your business should be ok. The Civil Fine Ordnance calls for a first-time offense to result in a warning, second offense is a $50 fine per occurrence up to a $500 maximum, and a third offense will result in closure and an unlimited $50 fine per occurrence. There is a sunset formula in the ordnance, as well as an appeal process.

If you have any questions on any of these issues let me know I and I will get you the answers.
